Sunday, March 3, 2024 - At first relatively muted on the nose but showing notes of blackberry, graphite, leather. The palate was large indeed with an attack of ripe primary black fruits, giving way to a midpalate dominated by minerals/ciagr box and tightly coiled tannins. Throughout the night it continued to open but was still nowhere near ready at the ~2 hour mark. This wine is classic bordeaux but also big and ripe, with huge structure to go along. Will take maybe another 5-10 years for everything here to come together but certainly a quality production in a legendary year. 93 points with 94-95 potential.
