95 Points

Saturday, November 9, 2013 - On the nose there's pen ink, black currants, wet iron, dark chocolate & dark berries ~ On the palate it's big, mouth filling & plush with silky tannins & smokey notes, a bit vegetal, anise, leather & dark fruits ~ Outstanding. With a few more years in the bottle this will develop into a classic

11/9/2013 6:38:00 PM - A few is a little understated. LB usually goes into coma phase for many years. You can start to wake it after 5, but your really get rewarded letting it sleep 10-15 years if you can. Really rewarding, I only bought one and plan on drinking well after 2020. Nice notes and glad its still drinkable. With Leoville Barton its drink it very early or hold for up to 20 years. This should really be the star along with its Leoville siblings in 2025. It may outlive Pontet-Canet.
