Saturday, July 7, 2018 - Did a side by side blind tasting of 3 outstanding red wines with 8 oenophile friends - all CS majority and well aged. 2009 Chateau Leoville Barton, 2008 Guado Al Tasso Antinori super Tuscan, and 2007 Chappellet Pritchard Hill Estate. All outstanding #1 favorite was the Super Tuscan with some preferring the Chappellet - none preferred the Bordeaux.

7/8/2018 1:29:00 PM - Can't really comment on the Chappellet Pritchard Hill Estate, but Leoville Barton is known to require many years of cellaring. Having tasted the 2009 on release, I estimated that it shouldn't be touched until 2024. In my book, it is way to early to enjoy it. Knowing the Italian wine, it would have been about ready.
