TN: Intense, saffron, peach, apricot, spices nose. Super precise and fresh. On the palate this is so nicely layered, intense, super precise, with so much quince, hints of apricot, loads of saffron, herbs, crushed rocks. The highlight, as always, is the unbelievable weightless which just Yquem can achieve. Superb acidity. Long lasting finish.
Decanting: This was sitting in the glass for some at least 60 minutes which seemed fine.

4/5/2022 4:36:00 PM - At least at this stage, I find it better than 2001, but my palate may be different...I enjoy Sauternes when they are old or young....So far, 2009 Yquem is my benchmark for Sauternes. I have yet to fine a more balanced wine where the acid perfectly offsets the sweetness, coupled with layers of flavors, pretty hard to beat, IMO.

4/6/2022 12:18:00 AM - Thanks for your inputs. I find the 2001 a bit better today as it is even more complex as it is more evolved. So just a matter of age. But they are definitely both excellent.
