Sunday, December 3, 2023 - This speaks the vintage quite a bit. Sweet and candied strawberry fruit, wilted rose petals, five spice, and that classic touch of 2003 prunes. The same kinda of prunes which I also picked up in the 03 RSV from DRC last year. Plenty of tertiary development in the form of earth and mushroom, which you might also call rustic. There is both power and elegance here and although this hails from a heatwave vintage, there is balance and harmony which you only get from the best of producers. The bouquet is excellent and the wine is wide open, I'd say drink now and hold no more.
