Saturday, August 27, 2011 - Opened, poured into a decanter, then back into the bottle and let sit for about 4 hours. Then poured into the decanter about 1 hour before serving. Tasted with food (grilled steaks, if you're wondering, with a side of polenta and black eyed peas).
Nice dusty aroma of chocolate and red fruits. The wine is rich and somewhat sweet. More chocolate and dried cherries in the mid-palate. Has a smooth finish. Touch of licorice and vanilla on the back end. 14.9% but shows no heat.
Delicious.
