Friday, January 26, 2024 - 4 of 12 Decanted @ 3:00 served @ 8:00. Initial impression was younger, darker and less evolved than the last bottle. Paired with the 1999 at dinner. This opened up quite a bit by dinner time, showed layers of red fruit, fine grained tannins, good minerality and spice, it was more elegant than the richer, denser 99. This is in a very good place and should improve a bit over the next 10 years.
