Friday, December 25, 2015 - Hard as nails upon opening, this was splash-decanted for an hour. It showed immense limestone on the nose, the most minerally red wine I've ever smelled. Tart plum skin and raspberry too. On the palate that persistent minerality plus big acidity was not at all out of place. It brightened up plum and strawberry, plus a hint of beet. I loved this wine because it's so elegant and pretty, plus is a radical departure from the usual Pinots that I drink. Big tannins and acid mean that I wouldn't touch this again for a decade.
