Saturday, March 13, 2021 - NOSE: Clearly mature but still vital and interesting. Initially cherry stone, Anthon Berg “Plum in Madeira”, moderately herbal, mildly medicinal, leather, pipe tobacco and pipe smoke. With time it takes on fresher notes of raspberry fruit (90-91p)
TASTE: Rather mature fruitiness although there’s also a fresh, almost minty touch. Earthy elements with a touch of dark chocolate. Medium rich mouthfeel. Medium long aftertaste. (88-89p)
OVERALL: A mature but vital 20 year old CdP and a lovely nosing wine. TOTAL SCORE 89 points.
