NOSE: Clearly mature but still vital and interesting. Initially cherry stone, Anthon Berg “Plum in Madeira”, moderately herbal, mildly medicinal, leather, pipe tobacco and pipe smoke. With time it takes on fresher notes of raspberry fruit (90-91p) TASTE: Rather mature fruitiness although there’s also a fresh, almost minty touch. Earthy elements with a touch of dark chocolate. Medium rich mouthfeel. Medium long aftertaste. (88-89p) OVERALL: A mature but vital 20 year old CdP and a lovely nosing wine. TOTAL SCORE 89 points.

Krass, rustikk hodepinerødvin med mørk frukt, jord, bark, kaffe på duft. Baktung og med hostil snerp. Kraftig og ikke uinteressant vin med intakt frukt, men trenger feit, egnet mat for å komme til sin rett.

- Brick color with medium forming legs and aromas of phenolic and dusty and has flavours of raspberry and blackberry - With wagyu ribeyes New Year's Eve 2012 and later with dark Brix chocolate. Excellent pairing.

Notes from the second night. Medium ruby in colour, with some bricking around the edge. Light but nice nose of leather, game, garrigue and cherry fruit. Medium-bodied on the palate, with increasing acidity on the second night. Earthy, leathery cherry flavours dominate. Better on the first night, when the palate wasn't as drying with the acidity and tannin, but still a nice aged CDP that should probably be popped soon (B+).

Mature tasting wine, showcasing its red cherry fruit along with herbs de provence, barnyard, clove and a somewhat drying finish. The tannins clamp down and outlast the fruit on the finish. Drink up.

Accompaniment to Christmas Dinner of roast duck with port sauce and balsamic onions. Excellent wine with dark fruit, raisin notes and good balance. Fine tannins that would have allowed this wine to age a bit longer.

Nice enough; quite rustique, spicy, a bit fatter than usual for this wine, the vintage speaks; fully mature and round, time to drink up, I think

Really nice, drinking well now, old world notes, some fruit, and medium red color.

Very nice Christmas Eve CNP, universally liked, easy and open, but with a old vine vinosity. Great wintery stuff.
