Friday, June 3, 2016 - Popped and poured, consumed over 4 hours. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, cantaloupe, canned pears, lemon, dank earth, and butter - some would find the dank earth scent off putting but it seemed to add to the character of the nose to me. Palate: Medium bodied, tart citrus fruit attack with melon undertones, plenty of acidic back-bone keeps this 18 year old wine feeling youthful, back-end is dominated by melon, lemon, and earthiness which dominates a medium-plus length finish.
