Saturday, January 1, 2011 - Youthful ruby colour. This wine was initially closed but opened up nicely over the course of two hours. When it did, it revealed a bouquet of cassis, smokey oak and wet earth. Palate was medium bodied at best; quite round and supple. The wine was balanced without any green hints, but the oak does stick out a little at this stage. If I had more bottles I would hold for five years.
