Tuesday, January 2, 2018 - Departing from what I think of as beaujolais, this is a downright brooding wine. Completely opaque. Aromas of cocoa, molasses, and concentrated black cherry. Fleshy with low acidity and ample tannins. Needs time.
I wonder if one day people will look back and think 2009 was an overrated vintage for Beaujolais. Most of the things I love about Beaujolais are missing from this wine. It remains to be seen how this wine will age.
