Friday, November 16, 2018 - 1971 Bordeaux (3030 Ocean, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida): I had to check the cork twice to verify that it contained the numbers “1971” since color, aroma and taste suggested something from the eighties or even nineties. Fantastic depth of dark cherry and berry fruit submerged in noble tannins and perfect acids. So delicious it’s practically gulpable. What it lacks relative to the other ‘71s tonight is that mysterious complexity and nuance of old age. Still, everyone enjoyed it and most picked it as Wine of the Night. A great ‘71 and much different from a recent bottle from a different source.
