Tuesday, June 8, 2010 - Raspberry, raspberry, raspberry... on the nose and in the mouth.
From a well-preserved bottle, this wine is probably peaking now, long and very intense, dominated by the fruit character, but without being cloying. Other notes: sour cherry, blackberry, and a mineral backbone. Strong aroma and long finish. Not the most complex, but who cares, it's a beauty. Good alone and good with food; nicely complemented barbecued chicken, mushrooms, and zucchini. If you wait, it might acquire more complex secondary notes, but I suspect that it won't be as enjoyable.
