Sunday, October 19, 2014 - Refined black cherries and blue fruits on the nose, with hints of vanilla, fall leaves, and cocoa powder. In the mouth, this is clearly past its peak. Although some fruit remains, it's mostly dropped out; the palate is dominated by subtle vanilla and oak flavors, and by a bitter chocolate note. Thin on the middle palate and short on the finish. Stylistically this is 100% La Torre Brunello, but it doesn't measure up to the 1995 or the 1990. Drink now. Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3.
