The palate is better, showing mature and drying cherries, leather, sweet tobacco and quite high acidity.
My impression are that this has started to decay and is past peak.
Was probably better a few years back.

8/29/2014 4:15:00 PM - I'm pretty certain that this bottle was somehow flawed. I popped my last bottle two weeks ago, and, like most on this site, found it pretty wonderful. But, also, it's got a lot of tannins left in it and is a bit tightly wound. Could definitely sit for 5 if not ten years. I'm wondering if maybe your bottle was exposed to excessive heat and some point. Sounds unpleasant.
