Sunday, December 14, 2014 - Despite cork issues with other bottles, the cork came out intact and it gave rise to a confident feeling about what was to follow. Yellow colour. Looking good. The nose briefly hinted towards the gewurztraminer end of the riesling spectrum, but only this one time. Thereon, the wine showed white and yellowish fruit, with fruit stones there too. A sense of stonefruit being dissected. Fruit candy. Fullish body. Lovely and persistent sweet fruit from the start till the finish, and while it was as long as the Georg Breuer Nonnenberg Riesling 2003 which it followed, it didn't quite have the same intensity. A spicier finish, too. Yet, this CFE, cellared shortly after birth, was clearly fine plus and one of the best bottles I have had over the twelve years I have been drinking this wine, and in no rush to be drunk-up.
