Monday, December 15, 2008 - Now we are talking riesling! So many times I've been disappointed with riesling when a supposed dry riesling has the minerality and stones on the nose but is completely sweet on the palate. This puppy's aromatics had rocks, cement, polished stones, petrol, and even some white flowers waft up from the glass as I swirled. Couple the aroma with a hint of citrus and a rich mouthcoating feel that reminded me of chardonnay. Not California over-oaked chardonnay but a nice palate-dense chablis. Some ripe pear and a defiantly dry finish made me a believer in this Alsatian beauty. 93 pts.
