Saturday, August 4, 2012 - In the mood for a big wine with grilled chops tonight. Opened about 2 hrs ahead of drinking & poured al ittle in the glass. Served around 58 degrees. In a word delicious. Balanced, lovely red fruit and spice. Carrys its weight well with good acidity and lift. Nose is clean and floral but somewhat reserved. Some youthfull tanins. Happy to own it. 3 more for 3-5yrs hence. 15% alc but Charvin pulls it off pefectly. No sense of oakiness what so ever.
