Sunday, March 3, 2013 - I had high hopes for this wine but the nose was especially disappointing. Lead pencil certainly but some off aromas that were suggestive of forest rot or decay. The palate softens after 1.5 hours in a narrow decanter [faster in the glass] and gives some hint of the characteristic round fruit sweetness of the '85 vintage. But overall rather a disappointment considering other '85 clarets. Either sell, or drink, but certainly don't buy.
