Taste like pure alcohol when first opened. After three hours it tasted ok. It actually opened up quite nicely the second day. It was a good wine. I think this wine can be cellared fro many more years.

This wine still needs a LOT of decanting. Had some surprise company for an italian sausage dinner, so popped and poured. First sips were way too hot, masking the fruit. The bottle being too warm did not help, either. Decanted about half the bottle and stuck it in the fridge to lower the temp. But still the wine was still too hot that night.
But tonight, about 48 hours after opening, the last of this bottle displays wonderful fruit, soft tannins and nice mouthfeel. With enough air time to get rid of the heat, it has excellent balance. The bouquet shows fruit and earth. Color is medium red with medium body. So the wine still has a ways to go and I'm glad I have several more bottles.

Decanted for an hour. Consisitent with prior notes, the last bottle. This wine has excellent flavor and mouthfeel, but the harshness occasionally comes back, even with decanting.

Decanted this bottle for a half hour and it clearly helped. Excellent bouquet and it was much smoother on the palate. Very little heat and a lot of fruit. It was great with pepperoni pizza. Glad I have nine more bottles, will certainly help me get through 2008.

Much improved over the 2 previous bottles I drank over a year ago. The heat has dissipated and it has mellowed nicely. Dark cherry fruit that lingers on the tongue. I am glad I let this one lay down for an extra year.

Alcohol heat got to me more in this bottle than last time I tasted. The fruit is not really as forward as before. I don't really think this is a wine to sit on for much longer.

hasn't aged that much in the ~9 months i've had in my cellar - still opened a little tight. but what i noticed mostly is the nice complex earthy and chocolaty flavors i got out of the last bottle (9 months ago, after decanting for about 3 hours) wasn't there. granted, i didn't really give this bottle time to open outside of say 20 minute s in the glass, but i would have thought it might have aged better. i will definilty decant the next bottle if i open within 6 months.

I drank this wine in early fall of 2006, and it was EXTREMELY young. I have no idea how long to cellar things, but my guess is 2 years minimum for the remaining 3 bottles I have. The winery suggested the drinkability window only really starts in late 2007 I believe. After decanting for about 2 hours, it really opened up beautifully with a wonderfully complex boquet. Fruit forward, but finished with more complexity. I can't quite remember after 3 months what it finished with, though.
Again, if you open this wine and drink immediatley (at least now) it will be very acidic, and flat out unpleasant. Decanting it for a while makes it a wonderful wine, especially for the cost (10-15$, I believe)

Good fruit... nice finish... a slight hint of spice and smoke. PLEASE decant this wine, first bottle I drank without, would have rated probably an 83-84, but if you decant for a good 3-4 hours its easily a solid 87.

Needs time to come out. Extreme heat upon opening. Mellowed over 3 hours. Black cherry, berries, and spice. The remainder of this case will sit until mid-2007 (at least). Could be great.

Pleasant fruit with a light body. A little off balance at first with alcohol heat, but it mellowed down after about an hour. I wouldn't search for another bottle, but would consider buying if I stumbled on it again.

Light bodied after other wines we drank this night. Nice way to end the evening. Prevalent cherry, earth, and spice that we couldn't quite grasp. Very drinkable and did open up after being decanted. Better than the first bottle I drank of this.

Takes a little while to open up, but once it does it has a nice texure and good taste. However, I feel like there's a pretty significantly bad after-taste. My bottles were exposed to a fair amount of heat during shipment, so that might be the cause of that...

Needed quite a while to open up, so I'll wait a couple years before opening my other bottles. Tannins are noticeable, but do not distract from the delightful taste of sour black cherries. Very good now, but should be better in a few years.

This wine is still young, probably needs to sit until 2007 or 2008...The winery thinks it'll be good through 2012.
Anyway...As I first poured the wine it looked thin and I initially thought I'd be dissapointed with it. But...After letting it sit for over an hour, it really opened up into a great wine. Nice fruit flavors that aren't too sweet...A nice complex finish...If this thing does as it should and get better with age, I think this is a real winner. Probably my best wine purchase to date, except for some Mosaic that I haven't opened yet that is supposed to be great. ;)

A nice sangiovese. light and reasonably fruity. But next to the wonderful Vino Noceto, it's merely ordinary.
