Even better with age, fine floral and stone fruit with a decent balanced acidity, lovely light richness. No whiff to blow off as last bottle some time ago, so age has been good to this. Excellent qpr! Good on its own and can complement some light fare, mostly nice aperitif.

As good as any Marsanne from this house in recent memory. Settled lemon early before quite big licks of bitter fruits kick in.. 5yrs ago I thought this might be a 15yr wine but I reckon it's looking it's best now.

Delicious peach flavours and softly toasted marshmallow notes, honeyed feel on the palate and very smooth, so easy to drink, went beautifully with a wine braised chicken and roasted carrots and parsnip platter. Would happily buy more of this from Tahbilk.

Drank with BBQ salmon, mushrooms and apumpkin, feta and walnut salad. Paired reasonably well with all parts apart from the mushrooms, which made the wine taste very bitter

Usually great wine with these few years on it. However this time it seemed lacking somewhere. Neither nose nor palate were as substantial as I have come to expect.
such a treat to taste an 8 years old bottle for 12 bucks. Pungent and expressive nose. Lithe but flavorful and complex, some of the flavors actually remind me of fino sherry. 90-91

Nose of almond skin, with lime cordial in the background. Medium-bodied palate, with flavours of almond, Brazil nuts, and a hint of olive oil, with a crisp celery finish. There's an aged-Riesling fuel note starting to develop, but it doesn't taste like fuel yet.

Quite nice, medium to full body, just enough acid to complement the rich mouthfeel, especially on the finish. Floral, apricot, honeysuckle nose and palate, with honey hints, as others note. When first sampled at a wine tasting over a year ago, had a whiff of skunk cabbage that had to blow off before floral/fruit character could show; that is all gone and now opens quite nicely. Will save second bottle to see how it evolves. Very nice qpr for $8. Not much Marsanne around and always fun and interesting to see varietal character & terroir. Served with pan fried salmon in corn meal crust with salad, and was fine. Enjoyable, and would re-buy.

Golden colour. Honeysuckle, slight honey, stone fruit flavours showing. Still has a few years left for further development. A very good wine for a very modest price.

nose:wonderful aromas of apricot and stone fruits, some heady blossom
palate: dry, good mid palate and length, medium to high to acidity, stone fruit flavours although not as pronounced as on the nose, some honey or mead flavours

I'm very impressed for a wine you can buy around $15 when young. The tertiary flavours are showing now, I would recommend it with cheese or on his own and not too cold. Bee wax and white flowers with some lemony/zesty background. Cleansing acidity. I saw that wine on cellar clearance at DM for $10 and because I had one bottle I didn't buy any. Mistake...

All the right qualities came out on Day 2. Might have failed to give it some breathing time on Day 1. Pleased a have a few more which I should spin out for a few years yet.

Good form here. Seems ripe and the palate weight is almost thick compared to other recent vintages. Big licks of bitter lemon right through the palate and it drives quite a bit of length. Remain convinced these wines show better at 5 - 8 years although to be fair this one looks to have the stuffing to go 10yrs+.

Very faint nose. There were citrus and spring flowers of light intensity on the palate. Short length. It may be due to the setting / odd bottle but this wine was not to my taste this evening.

floral nose very dry, honeysuckle, some roundness and weight at the end long lovely, much richer than I expected. Really showing some maturity. Gorgeous now but would love to try in a couple of years.

Very pale colour. Interesting aroma: not fruity, possibly floral but more vegetation with an overlay of garage forecourt. Soft in the palate, low acidity, interesting flavours of stone fruits with a hint of citrus. Good.

88-89. White rhone knockoff that does very well. Never had a CA wine with this type of bitter pit fruit along with some slighty honeyed fruit in a dry package. Better as it warms. I'll overrate this bc the qpr is so much better than most and it doesnt taste ordinary.

Honeysuckle, marmalade & toast as you’d expect. Broad and lacking in the focus and zest that better examples/vintages would exhibit.

Tahbilk visit with Alistair Purbrick and Neil Larson (Tahbilk Winery, Nagambie Lakes, Victoria.): Showing some development compared to the '15. Mild toast and honeyed characters emerging, a bit of lemon curd and bruised apple on the palate. Balanced. Medium+ acidity. Really good length for something of this price.
