Ordered off the wine list at "M" last night with Kevin and Liz. It was more interesting than delicious. Light gold. Excellent nose of apple, peach, quince and wet stone. The palate was quite reductive and backward. It would have been better left open for 24 hours before drinking. There was delightful Chenin Blanc fruit that seemed to be struggling to come to the foreground. Wonderful minerality and length. Good tension and energy. I would try again, but give it a LOT of air first.

Excellent QPR Savennières. Light gold. Nose of honey, citrus, & clove. Ripe, elegant palate of pear, peach, and lemon peel. My wife got apple notes in both the nose and palate. Very good length. Refreshing acidity. Nice minerality. Delicious, balanced wine with a lot of varietal and regional typicity.

Popped for an hour. Light brass in colour. Chalk, guava, lemon curd, graham cracker and stone. Chiseled and stoney on the medium finish, ending refreshingly clean. Steely and focused - although it is a little one-dimensional; very food friendly; and can still handle a decent amount of cellar time. Drink now - 2017.

From a half bottle at Les Nomades. Bright, clear color and a well-developed nose with a lot of pear and flowers. A lot of fruit on the palate as well, but surpringly dry and crisp, with a long, clean finish. Very impressive wine, paired quite well with a warm lobster and shrimp salad. Would like to try this one again.

Smooth and layered; creamy textute with earthy semi-sweet lemon curd and soft pineapple; nice round minerality and appreciative viscosity with a round finish.

Really lovely and complex aromas of pear, honey, flowers. The palate unfortunately does not quite match the nose and is somewhat reticent, although with similar flavors. Does not open up much more on Day 2.

PnP served blind; this wine followed two very different Chenin ('05 Silex, 07 Dom. du Petit Metris Savennières). Medium straw color with a noticeable brightness to it. You would think that after 2 other Chenin I'd have guessed this one correctly (guessed Tokay Pinot Gris), but in fairness, this did change quite a bit at about the 45 minute mark. Rich aromas of bruised pear, apricot, quince and a heavy dusting of Asian spice. The palate, for ~ $20 has few equals, at least in my book. I admit this is one of my favorite grapes, but each time I revisit it, especially in the hands of a producer such as Baumard, it reminds me of why I first got into wine: because it makes me pause and consider the sheer beauty and utter complexity of a little thing like a winegrape. 90+, recommended, drink thru 2016.

Fresh and clean Chenin Blanc, perfect way to enjoy a perfect spring day. fresh flowers on the nose, flavors are lite and fruity but not overbearing, note to self, get more.

Nate notes chives. And a pear liquor. To me pears and pineapple. The craziness of botritys. Thick on the palate but not heavy, and not sweet. Very interesting wine here. This is some pretty interesting wine.

Interesting wine. Rich chenin. Kind of boring on day 1. Absolutely stunning on day 2. I need to get some more of this.
