  • KR's first Pinot vintage ever. You'll only ever get to taste this if you're friends with Kent himself! I was lucky to be there on a very special tour where we got to taste the 79, 83, 067 and 07 vintages. He opened two or three of these early bottles to give us a truly historical vertical.

Kent admitted that this was still experimental. And being a PN from 79 drunk in 2010 it was, Past it. But still drinkable! Still Pinot-y. Sherrified but great fruit, structure from good tannins. Kent reckoned one reason it was still good was this being his first vintage he had made it using sky high amounts of sulfites!

  • Translucent brick. Tight (or expired?) nose. Great body, cooked strawberries, cedar, and a long fruit-filled kind of tart finish. I was there with Richard, and I liked it more than he did.
