  • Beautiful

Fresh, acidity holding well, enough fruit to balance seamless tannins

I'm not used to older Barbera's, this encourages me to look out for them

  • 2 years later (where does time fly?), my tasting note is same. This is a well-made wine I think only available to club members and a few others at the time. Perhaps I now regret giving so many of the original case away.

  • Dark red with dark ruby hues in color. Exhibits lovely aromas of black cherries, blackberries, spices, hints of vanilla bean, with a velvety medium body and a long lingering finish. Excellent!

  • While Barbera is one of my favorite varietals, I hope this does not reflect on my rating. This is the first bottle of the case I purchased from Covington. When I opened it a day ago, the nose was fruity without any overbearing alcohol notes. The taste was a bit of blackberry and it had length as I drank a few glasses. It was wonderful. The next day, I finished the bottle and it had softened a bit and was very smooth. Still had good fruit flavors and good length in the mouth. I like this first bottle very much. I believe this can cellar for several more years but I did like this first bottle (sorry for being redundant).
