Tasted together '02, '03, and '16. '03 had resolved tannins, still clean cherry fruit, '02 was similar with a slight mustiness, '16 was very ripe, a touch over ripe, light tannins, red fruit.

This is a medium body cab that was quite good. Cherry and oak fragrances and found the finish quite good. Suspect this could have been in the cellar for several more years contrary to the CT drinkability report.

Good dark color. Mostly oak and cherry on the nose - at least it SMELLS like cab. The flavor was a bit austere, with oaky tannins dominant over the plum and cherry. Fairly high tannins and fairly long finish. Ste. Michelle is a very dependable producer, but I don't like this as much as their Riesling. All in all, ok value, would be great for cooking (and drinking while you cook).

Top 1/4 of cork fell apart and I expected the wine to be undrinkable. Was I wrong. Medium-bodied with a bit of cherry on the nose followed by dark fruit. Oak prevalent along with a bit of cedar. This was given to be as a gift and I was quite surprised!

About what I expected for the price. I like Chateau Ste Michelle wines overall and this one does not disappoint, but don't look for big things. The color was a medium plum with little depth, which was equally evident in the mild nose. Mineral overtones were prominent with a splash of blueberry. Medium finish. Decent QPR.

Decent wine. Good value for the price. The notable characteristic for me was the length and quality of the finish. Not a big cab by any means, but certainly distinctive and pleasant.

Dependable Chateau Ste. Michelle. Always dependable at a good price. Nice plum color with berry aromas and a little oak. Good full mouth cab flavor of berries and a little chocolate. Nice medium finish.

I am a wine novice, but here goes. Nice burgandy color, Berry fruit scent, Nice taste in the mouth, with a smooth finish. Not a very strong wine, but I like that. As a surfer, I would rate this a knee high wave. It's worth paddling for, but you know it's not going to be epic. Enjoy the ride for what it is. Very drinkable for an everyday wine. I feel it's a real bargain for the price, 10 bucks. Life is Good!

Did not get jammy blackberry, did get a mouthful of tannin which was still there on day 2 (no decant, vacuvinned). Will check again tomorrow. This may be similiar to the 99 Canoe Ridge which definitely needed some cellar time. three days and still a mouthful of tannin. Four days and the fruit is just starting to show through. If I could find this at a killer price it would be worth putting a couple of bottles away.

Simple wine. Fruity with some dark cherries. It's nothing special but it's a good wine to drink. Went well with Korean shortribs. Not very complex but nothing fundamentaly wrong either.

Very good for the price. I love Washington reds. Not too overpowering, but still able to keep up with a more expensive cab.

Derrick’s: fairly lively, red fruit, plum; med. bod, high acids! a hint green maybe, but pretty astringent. Too cold?
