  • Highly disappointing and probably the biggest scam in the wine industry. While a pleasant wine in itself, it’s by no means worth the USD 250,00 it costs. It should sell in the USD 50,00 range for the quality offered. If you can spend that kind of money and want to experience something truly great from Portugal get yourself a Quinta do Crasto Vinha Maria Teresa 2011. Hell, an aged Chryseia 2006 should cost less than 100 and is a much better wine (had both at the same time).

  • This wine has all the typical Alentejo characteristics: cherry fruit, baking spice, sandlewood, chocolate, and herbal notes underscore a polished palate and attractive acidity. Unfortunately, this wine has all the Alentejo characteristics that I’ve come to find disappointing: it doesn’t do anything with food and there is a strong, ever-growing vegetal taste. As most wines from this region, I like each sip less and less. I paid $100 for this Tempranillo/Trincadeira blend (it's a cult wine in the Alentejo and cheaper in US than in Portugual) and while it is certainly a nice wine, just imagine what sort of Tempranillo wines I could get from Spain for $100?

  • Very fine. A walk on the wild side for this Burgundy drinker. Robust, balanced.
