This is a decent QPR wine, which is aged well, but definitely has structure and firmness to go many more years. My bottle showed no bricking or any color, smell, or taste deterioration. It has plenty of plum and berry fruit, with distinctive smoke and leather notes. A nice bottle at a decent price point. This would be a great pasta and red sauce paring.

Decent wine and good QPR. Definitely old world aromas of saddle. Color looks to changing towards brick already but the there's plenty of structure. Berries and floral notes abound.

Nice. Seemed young. The nose is quite expressive and very floral. The palate is more restrained - red berrys and a lot of earthiness. A bit tannic. Wait.

Light red with an orange/brown glow. Perfume on the nose and cherries on the palette. Super tannic; engulfs the mouths by coating your cheeks, gums and teeth. Just entering its drinking window if you don't mind powerful tannic beasts, but this has at least 20+ years ahead of it.

Found it a little too tight to enjoy without food. Lavender and cherry on the nose, however the finish rather harsh. The harshness disappeared when accompanying a grilled peppered ribeye, and after dinner with some cheese. Definitely needs food to cut the astringent finish. But then it is a barolo.

2006 was an excellent vintage in Piedmont. This is Fontanafredda's base barolo. I've had the 1996,1997 and 2001 vintages of this wine in the past. Not decanted. Clear ruby color. Lighter body notes of coffee and tart cherries. 88 points.

Corkage with dinner, popped and poured. 1 liter bottle. Opened up nicely after an hour or so with red florals, berries, mineral and earth notes. Silky yet firm in texture with nice acid with a medium finish. Still wound up but showing well enough to enjoy with an array of appetizers, and again after dinner. Enjoyed and would buy again and hold.
Intense nose of cherry, plum, cinnemon, black olive and spice. Tannic palate, full bodied, with cherry, black olive and spice. Medium finish. Good wine with complexity but too young.

Det här var inte bra... Tanniner utan dess like som tar död på allt och jag misstänker korkskada. Närmast odrickbart.
