  • I expected this to be inaccessible based on the Burghound note but it wasn’t , it still needs time but drinks well enough and may rate better with time

  • Pop n' pour. Clearly young, too young really. But this is forward, round and lush and providing pleasure already. Primary aromas of rich black cherry with some meaty spice lurking below. The palate is dense with good concentration and polish. Balanced and should reward cellaring over the next decade+.

  • P & P; I think this is my first Drouhin-Laroze. This is (or will be) very nice, and the first young CdV I have drunk in a long time. Compared to so many other 2009s, this is a very masculine wine. It is purple fruited and very dark on the nose with a whiff of cologne. It is clear and pure in the mouth; texturally more like a 2008. The wine is mineral driven, with strong purple fruit, and a slight dose of bittersweet tannins. Needs time for sure.
