Dinner at Wah Lok. Mid garnet. Light body. Slight oaky notes, but not prominent. Bright red fruits, quite lively. Simple, not much complexity, but well made, clearly from a good vintage and offers a great deal of enjoyment for a entry level village wine.

A solid 90 pts. A terrific village level Gevrey that is drinking really well right now! See my prior tasting notes for a more detailed description. Good juice at a great price. I paid $46 for this bottle.

Similar to prior tasting notes. I would best describe it as slightly effervescent straight out of the bottle and then it turns into a briny, sanguine, whole cluster with some green stem and almost exotic nose. Great value for village Birg.

I finally figured it out... pop and pour. No decant and drink it within the first hour. In reality, you have a 30 minute window for optimal enjoyment. First 30 minutes this wine is literally “furry” in texture. After 60 minutes, it becomes astringent and herbal. Bottom line... it is a great Burgundy, but you have to catch it at the right moment.

This has faded a bit since my last tasting around 1 yr ago. It still has an incredible nose and mid-palate as previously described, but the finish is now austere and drying and the fruit is starting to show some fading with bricking at the edges. My recommendation is to drink now before it fades further. Still a great burg, but not for long.

Not decanted. Quite a full colour in the glass; no fade at the edge. Tightly wound at first, but opens out to reveal expressive and sumptuous fruit. A lot of black, and red, fruit in fact - along with some lovely secondary aromatics. Sexy and stylish on the palate, in quite a rich style, but not over-extracted. This has plenty of stuffing but is not overdone. The tannins are super-fine; gives it lovely grip. Good length. Very good plus, and drinking very well now, but not rush at all. (This was generally considered to edge it over Grivot's Vosne Bossieres from the same vintage, although it's a subjective choice of course. Serafin's slightly richer fruitier style probably played a part in that.)

Very similar to my Tasting note earlier this month. As evidence by my already having another bottle in less than two weeks, I clearly can’t keep my hands off it. Great Burgundy for the price. Drinking great now.

Wow! Exceeded my expectations for this village Gevrey from Serafin. So glad I have more in the cellar. It needs 30 min in the glass to blow off the effervescence, but then it becomes beautiful. Liquid blackberries, spice, touch of oak, menthol and damp earth on the nose, with velvety tannin. Delicious, especially for the price point. Drinking great now with 30 min of air.

I overkant varm i ettersmaken.

Ripe vintage fruit, backed by earth, herbs, and sous-bois, and appealing texture. Generous, with great lifting acids, and deft balance. Showing well now.

Fine Vines - New Burgundy Releases (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting. Ripe blackberry and black cherry aromas with spice hints. Very forward and accessible. Lush red and black cherry flavors. Easy to enjoy today, in contrast to the Gevrey VV that was more concentrated but backward.
