Agree with COS65 to serve this one on the cool side to flatten out a hot finish. That said, this is drinking well right now but likely heading for decline after a decade resting in the cellar. Grilled peaches, blackberry jam and sage in the nose and on the palate, followed up by a black licorice finish. A monster right now. Overpowered the stuffed peppers and grilled toast it was served with; this needs a big ol’ steak cooked the Ruth’s Chris way with all the fixings.

Clearly aged zin, but with an hour of air this sweetens up to a bit juicy strawberry jam zin. Probably on decline. Drink up and serve on the cool side with 16.3%...

Decanted with aerating decanter. Mistake; stirred up sediment. Dark fruit and licorice, with red/cherry overtones. Nice spice. Very long, evolving finish. Nice wine.

Decanted for 1 hour. Mostly dark red fruits on the nose, along with some blue fruits, baking spices and pepper. Same on the palate, but with an integrated silkiness and long finish that only certain wines achieve. No need to wait to enjoy, although short decant will loose the genie. Should last at least another year or two.

Smooth on opening; wonderful structure of dark red fruit and slight spice; good depth and complexity; tasting mature rather than young; pleasant finish.

Cassis and plums and blue fruits in the nose, along with a bit of white pepper. Big and mouthfilling, with bright acidity and intense dark fruit flavors, and some subtle baking spices and perhaps pumpkin on the finish. Long finish. Very soft tannins at this point in its age. Very food friendly with all the acidity. Both the nose and palate developed a hint of sourness on the 2nd day, but still very nice overall.

Dark purple, typical Turley color. Lots of bright red and dark fruit on the nose. Really jammy palate, fruit dominates, less of the pepper and spice typical of the Turley style. A bit sweet.

16.3% ABV. Slightly translucent dark garnet in the glass. Knockout nose of baking spices and ripe zinberry fruit. Just a hint of raisin/dried fig, but not enough to bother me. Full bodied, ripe and lush on the palate with a hint of sweetness, presumably from the alcohol. Delicious.

PnP at a wine/cheese party. No detailed notes. Big. Earthy. Would decanting have helped?

I purchased three bottles from an online auction website and all three bottles were flawed. Caveat emptor.

Solid, not overdone. Moderate purple Zin fruit with just a hint of baked notes. Notes on day 2.

Really a very food friendly wine. A lot of substance, dark fruit, and minerality!

Popped & poured. Over a few hours, a beautiful fruit & light alcohol nose, yet smooth full-fruit taste, light, easy tannins. Great Turley Zin!

Outstanding zin, after a short decant this was superb, well rounded with snuff spice to make this a classic turley

Big, lush, jammy zin. The raisin and fig finish is a little too sweet but the overall balance is splendid. Drink now.

Big jammy zinfindel that's fun to drink now but will likely smooth out a bit in a year or two.

Bigger and more rustic. Lots of fruit and stuffing here but needs a year or two to smooth out the rough edges.
