This has matured into a delightful 1er cru Vougeot! It’s been about 3 years since I’ve last tasted it and it is drinking extraordinarily well tonight with penetrating darkish red fruit, lots of earthy sous bois and some subtle Asian spice notes. The tannins on the mid length finish have mostly resolved. I’m sad that this is my last bottle.

At ten years, this seems to be in the latter stages of development. Clear medium ruby, still needs a decant for the aromatics to start showing through. Medium body and alcohol. Well balanced, and complex: upfront, dirty earth laden forest floor, herbal tea, ripe cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, all underscored with a nicely integrated tannic and acidic structure. Smooth and elegant mouthfeel. Long, dry intense finish. Enjoyed with a baked chicken pot pie. Should continue to evolve and cellar for another 5-7+ years.

This was quite nice after several hours of double decanting with lots of big, full bodied, dark red fruit, asian spice and firm, chalky tannins on the long finish. Drinking well, but still just a baby.

This is quite nice tonight, much darker than it was the last time I tasted it with earthy, midweight fruit, firmish tannins and a medium finish. Very nice.

While still abit on the young side, after a couple of hours of double decanting, this was quite delightful with bright, red fruit, earth and spice in a softer, fairly delicate, feminine format. Hopefully this will pick up a little more depth with some time in the bottle.

Needs time. Very young, showing aggressive tannin and strong acidity. Tart cranberry, red cherry, and herbs throughout. Lots of stemmy notes too. Needs several more years to fully resolve, as all the pieces are there for a lovely wine.

Open for about 20 minutes, nose of intense cherry but a bit darker cherry than some. Flavors of intense cherry with baking spice, bits of leather and black tea and some bitterness (oak?) on the back end which certainly makes it less enjoyable. Smooth, clean lighter texture with medium to light tannins but not a velvety mouthfeel at all. I'm hoping it loses a bit of its bitterness after a few hours. At this point, I would not recommend - I have another bottle, maybe i will wait a few years...
