Magnum format; wine is in its drinking window. It's lighter than expected given the vintage; classic Gevrey nose, earthy sous bois, red cherry, integrated oak, somewhat lean with balance acidity. I would err on opening this sooner rather than later.

Nose is stunning with dark red fruits and earth notes, plenty of life left to age - tannin is present so would work with or without food at this point.

Reddish brown in color, a bit cloudy. A wonderfully strong perfumed nose of plum, violets, and crushed wet rocks. Amazing follow through on the palate with the addition of cinnamon. "Like Christmas," but that may just be because it is that time of year. The wine finishes with a grippy tannic finish that goes on forever. This is fantastic now, but should continue to evolve for another year.

Once it got some air, very nice fresh dark berry fruit and some dried apple, plus a balanced wood and medium tannin backbone. Bit of that match-head flint. Overall quite tasty though not overly complex. Another good gateway Burg from Harmand. (FYI: Initially, sulfur nose needed 25 minutes to blow off.)

Jammy nose, with round, earthy approach. Creme brûlée on the finish. Tannins still firm - this wine has years to go, but drinks wonderfully today. The subtleties come alive after hours of decanting.

Some oak vanilla frames a robust, fresh-tilled earth, plum and red berry jam nose. Savory in the mouth that screams Gevrey, plenty of structure and acid. Great length. Hold for 5-8 years. Wide open now with no decant.

Layer upon layer, dark fruit and barnyard all on the nose. Structure and power on the palate. Less "modern" but incredibly layered. Young now but its all there.

With a little bit of a savory edge to it, fully mature, soft and supple and rounded, highly aromatic right now. Tim loves it.

En magnum. PNP served into Ridel Burgundy glass (“Root” day): Pale ruby to the eyes with purplish hues.
Florals and not too oaky for my taste as demonstrated by previously tasted. Amazing cherry fruits.
Amazing minerality notes and very clean and persistent notes.
Great stuff. 94 points easy.

Killer juice that drinks well now with a bright future. Stacked with minerality and a great acidic spine for a 2009.

The darkest, the most massive of the Harmand 1er Cru. Lots of tannin, lots of power. By far the most tannin and massive.

more green and earth than the Mortet; but more similarities than differences; this might be a great freaking wine in a few years.
