  • This is so good! A little more complex than a year ago (4/06/2011). I'm so disappointed that KL is closing shop.

  • I have always been a big fan of Karl Lawrence wines and when they started offering this Chard I thought that I would have to give it a try. Now it is one of my favorite chards at this price point. In fact like all of KL wines, it outperforms many wines at the same price point.

Pale straw with a very slight greenish tinge, crisp with nice structure and a great finesse. Citrus, caramel, pear and green apple notes. Not too oaky and a nice balanceo of acid and butter . Drinks much too easily as the bottle we had disappeared before the second course arrived. Wonderful now, but I would bet it could go for a couple of more years and get even better.

  • Nothing to add to my 4/6/2011 notes. Lovely wine.

  • Towards a sauv blanc with apple and citrus balanced by muted oak. Really liking this.

  • Light yellow with greenish tinge. Aromas of grass, sea shells and laundry detergent (in a good way). Green apple predominates the taste with pineapple filling out the mid palate. Finish has length. This is the best Aldin Chardonnay I have had. A terrific wine.

  • My "house chard" for some time has been the Montelena. I love its crispness, structure, finesse, and minimal oak. Well, this Aldin could give it a run for its money. It's a very different wine than the Montelena, but it also is a finesse wine. The Aldin boasts crisp pear, grapefruit, honeysuckle, beeswax, along with a modest oak grip. Any more oak, and this would not be my style. But here the oak is nicely balanced. I think in 3-5 years, this will add some depth and complexity that could add another couple of points to my (admittedly very subjective) score. Nicely done.

  • Pours a pale yellow with a ting of green. The nose is packed with citrus and a whiff of honey suckle. Much lighter on its feet then I remembered. The laser beam of acidity supports the ample amounts of citrus and pineapple. Reminds me of the 99 Mayacamas Chard I recently had. Very nice and not at all what I was expecting.
