Very floral nose together with lemon, butter, some orange and walnuts. White flowers. Round and warm in line with the vintage. Moderate acidity but not without energy. Medium long aftertaste, pure and very true to it's origin. Decent, good value.

A balanced nose of bright citrus fruit, almond, salty minerality and well managed dry oak. While it is clean and correct, I don't find much depth or really anything special about the nose, though. On the palate quite full bodied with an oily mouthfeel. Decent acidity saves the wine from being clumsy but I would not go as far as call it refreshing. The flavor profile consists of rich and ripe yet aromatically discreet fruit, obvious yet well integrated oak and a strong spicy note, especially towards the finish. Again, the acidity is not high enough to have a palate cleansing effect and thus I don't feel like drinking a second glass (though I did open the bottle at home). A bit too heavy and one dimensional to be interesting, and truthful to the vintage too, I guess.

What a bargain. Classy entry level Burg with the stuffing and resemblance of a Mersault. Wonderful fruit and length on the palate making you reach out for another glass. Ideal with food or just on its own on a hot summer's day.

Grand Tasting - La Paulee de San Francisco (Westin St. Francis - San Francisco CA): This is often a personal favorite value for me in white Burgundy and 2009 once again didn't disappoint. slightly floral start with ripe apple aromas and some background spice. Ripe green apple flavors with good acidity and minerality. Modest length but with good concentration for its level.

La Paulée de San Francisco 2012 (San Francisco, CA): Just stunning, fantastic, this is my type of white Burgundy: lean, mineral, acid, and malic (hints of green apple). Outstanding for a Bourgogne blanc, Michèle Fichet explained she could never produce enough to satisfy the thirsty masses raving for the QPR.

Slightly acidic and not as intense as I would've hoped. Still a very nice entrance generic Bourgogne.

This showed really well today. Impressive depth for a bourgogne and well balanced. No sign of falling over.

Excellent bourgogne qui en remontrerait à beaucoup d'appellations plus prestigieuses...
