Brilliant QPR that is showing well after 10 years in the cellar... Consumed over two nights. First night had fresh fruit and bright acidity; medium weight on palate. Second night was interesting in that the fruit oxidized just perfectly; texture was smooth though some of the complexity had become more muted. Overall, a great wine that is in its sweet spot -- drink now and enjoy.

Aging very well... The dark fruited aromas jump out of the glass, while red fruits and earth dominate the palate. This is an incredibly good CA Pinot Noir.

Esterlina and Lazy Creek made me a big fan of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir many years ago, and James does the grapes justice. Cherry/raspberry flavors, floral notes, hint of spice. Oak influence clearly present but not overdone; perfectly balanced acidity.

A great pinot, and a great match for Thanksgiving's turkey dinner. I have one more bottle, wish I had more! Lots going on, and heads above most of the Sonoma/Napa pinots I have had at this price point. Definitely my style.

I love this wine and I think it will only get better with maybe a year or so, but still outstanding now. You can smell the earth and taste the fruit. Very well done.

Slightly cloudy red brick color with lovely aromas of earth, fruit, and tobacco. Cherry and earth dominate the palate and the finish goes on and on (medium+). Delicious CA Pinot Noir.

Pinot Days 2011 (Navy Pier - Chicago, IL): Disappointing. Looks aged. Austere bitter fruit. Not terribly pleasant. Some decent earth and one dimensional cherries. Tastes like a $12 bottling.

Another example of a good value pinot, bright fruit, alcohol a bit high but keep it cool and you dont notice. Decent finish.

Clearly the best bottle of the 3 with ripe cherry on the nose and silky palate with integrated oak. Lovely finish!

Similar easing notes to previous bottle, with a bit more heat on the finish.

AVTG does '09 Anderson Valley pinot, blind (Foursight Winery): Reductive nose, dark fruit underneath. Very forward, sweet, dark fruit palate, with some pinot funk and earth to boot. Viscous and not shy. A fuller style.

My system (nose mouth finish) /+/, pretty big dark fruit, compote, chocolate, oak, may need some more time to integrate.
