Beautiful gilded color. Perfect cork upon pull. Baked pear, toasted bread, beeswax, lemon, and green apple. Medium acidity and decent complexity. It was exploding from the glass at first, and faded after 3 hours.

Color, clear golden almost like an old Sauternes; 1st nose, minerals and oyster; 2nd nose; honeysuckles and macerated fruits. On the palate, a mature Sauvignon Blanc with good acidity and medium body.

Yellow-greenish color... mature nose of yellow and green apple, doesn't have the lasersharpness of it's youth, but the "markers" of the Sauvignon blanc are present... taste of yellow and green apple, good acidity and freshness here, good sound bottle, drink-up!

Yellow color... nose of yellow apple, yellow straw in the sun, the typical grany smith nose has dissepeared here... taste of yellow apple, lacking a bit acidity and tension... clearly downhill, should have been consumed at least 5 years ago... old and tired bottle!

Molto fine e beverino

From half-bottle. The wine was medium golden in colour and offered oyster shell, citrus, pear, beeswax and honey on the nose. On the palate the wine showed citrus, apple, pear, wax and honey, joined by salty mineral notes, paired with smooth, medium-plus acidity and very good length of the slightly bitter finish. The medium-bodied, balanced wine seemed a little tired, but was very enjoyable nonetheless. Drink now.

From a half-bottle. The nose reminded of fresh sea breeze, with minerals, candle wax, buttery oak, citrus, apple, apricot and sweet pineapple. The wine was pretty bold on the palate, with hey and melted butter. The palate did not deliver against the expectations raised by interesting nose. Also, this 2004 is not on eye-level with the fabulous, lively 2008 I had a few weeks ago. I would not buy the 2004 again and would rather seek out the 2008. 85+

This was the last of four bottles from our cellar that were purchased on release and served with dinner. Although I didn't make notes on previous bottles, I don't recall being impressed with any of them. I think the earlier bottles had more vitality while this one just seemed tired. It was not in any way spoiled and would probably remain drinkable for another year or two, but I don't see any reason to hold it longer. There is no good reason for me to go into detail about a wine that didn't impress me one way or another.

No sign of oxidation here, but its going through a heavy period. Quite bold and heavy, with a waxy component, it was to over the top to drink straight away. More civillised the next night though and this is a wine i'll decant next time. Might be going through a bad phase, but its hard to tell.

Rich aromatics and a dusty palate low in acidity and reminiscent of a chardonnay. Agree with an earlier note that described this as similiar to an aged Chablis.

This was much better than the last showing, however not anywhere near what it should be. Only a little oxidized this time, more the oak is a bit out of balance. Overall a simple wine with lean attenuated oak. As per Goldiloks, "this ones too hot, this ones too cold" - Will it ever be too right?

I had this bottle 1-1/2 years ago, at which time oak and butter dominated the acidic wine. I believe this wine is now at its best. I don't believe these wines are particularly age-worthy, but the '04, at this juncture, showed remarkably well. The waxy nose depicted aromas of hay/grass, lemon, and green apple. Very nicely delineated, and fresh in the mouth featuring expressive flavors of citrus fruits - lemons and apples. It is a medium bodied wine, concentrated, but certainly not a massive, rich textured wine akin to Laville Haut-Brion...The finish also devlivered a surprisingly long and warm sense of candied lemon drops. In short, the best showing from this estate that I've ever experienced. I believe these wines are to be consumed in the medium-term, 4-7 years of age. I will consume my last bottle within the next year.

A rich golden color (perhaps an early indication of what was to come). Very muted, honeyed nose with bees wax and a hint of clove. Again very muted on the palate with little to no fruit, only a butterscoth and pissiness that could be identified. A distinct lack of acidity. Flawed (oxidized?). NR.

An impressive showing, very light on its feet but with terrific length. Green-gold rainwater in the glass, somewhat muted hay and apple notes on the nose, citrus and minerals on the palate. There's an X factor here that's hard to describe, so all I can say is that its balance and presence is impeccable.

A very good and balanced white Bordeaux. Classic Pessac nose of grass/hay, lemon, and green apple. Medium bodied with sufficient acidic backbone to suggest it will have some life in bottle. Very smooth and balanced in the mouth, featuring flavors of citrus fruits and minerals, acompanied by an interesting hint of buttery oak on the close. Will improve with a few years in bottle, and a clear notch above the '04 Larrivet Haut-Brion recently consumed. 90+

Disappointing either due to a constituent lack or early consumption. Compared to the 2003, this is austere and relatively uninteresting. No honeyed notes of semillon; all that seems to be present are notes of lean sauvignon blanc. Perhaps needs more time in the bottle, but my guess is that this is not the year for this wine.
