  • This was interesting. Opened and drank with a short decant. Was wonderful with a mushroom pasta. Love the pairing. But was a little dried out the next day. I would drink now.

  • Varietal, still tannic and youthful.

  • Fascinating wine, needs decanting with lots of sediment, medium to heavy body, rough tannins making the wine chewy, fruit shines with complex flavors, tartness, balance between tannins, acid and fruit, drank with tamales, nachos and guacamole, no more to be had, wine might develop more but I doubt it.

  • Aromatic, with nose and palate of refined black cherry. Structured and defined with a long finish. Clearly a tannic wine, but not dusty dry - tannins were nicely balanced by the acid, resulting in a kind of 'juicy tannin' effect, if that is a useful description. A lovely wine, probably a year or more away from its peak. Very enjoyable, and I'm pleased I found 3 bottles in a leftover rack at the Wine Library for $29 each.

  • Opened and poured through an aerator into a decanter. Tasted immediately and it was a bit closed. 30 minutes later it was pretty good. 45 minutes after it was opened it was really darned good. Who cares if it wasn't the highest end Barolo? Spicy Nebbiolo. Long, fairly complex finish. Consumed with an excellent chicken parmigiana dinner. Enjoyed it so well, I wish I had another bottle or two. Finished dinner and had such a great taste in my mouth that I took out a Waterford snifter and poured myself a glass of Fussigny Cognac. All in all a lovely evening.

  • It's amazing that this wine is consistent bottle after bottle, year after year, vintage after vintage. Still an amazing wine for the money. I wouldn't expect it to get me better with more age but it's singing now.

  • Big wine; high alcohol 15%; good mouth feel, medium bodied but somewhat gritty, tannic but opened up nicely; we like the 07 Barolos; great flavor; drank with veal parmesan; would drink again;

  • We decanted the wine for 1 1/2 hours before we poured the first glass. It was bright medium ruby in colour and offered dark flowers, cherry, blueberry, earth, spices and a hint of clove on the nose. On the palate the wine showed cherry, blueberry, blackberry, spices and a hint of clove, paired with high, dry but ripe tannins, medium-level acidity and good to very good length. The balanced, medium-bodied wine was fruity and ripe, but not overripe. A rock solid entry-level Barolo that improved quite a bit since the last bottle I had about a year ago. It is true to the vintage and already drinks very well if you don’t mind the high tannin. I clearly preferred it to the overripe Pio Cesare Barolo 2003 I had about a week ago. Will try to stock-up for early and mid-term drinking. 89+

  • 1/2 hour decant, needed more time. A bit of excess alcohol but also some nice cherry and tar. Palate brought sweet red fruit, even a hint of caramel(!) but possible a little thin on the body. I might give this a year or three but doubt it has the material to improve after a decade.

  • Poured into a glass and let it breathe for 1 hour, drank over 3 hours, finished on the second day on the same note. Very nice modern Barolo with a nice fruit structure behind a layer of tannins. There is a touch of sweetness that balanced out the acidity. Liked this a lot compared to a somewhat traditional 2004 Barolo, which was excruciating with high tannins and acidity.

  • Opened bottle and let it sit for 2 hours. Initital impression from both tasters was the same: "wonderful". Pretty amazing for such a young barolo. We wondered what 10 years would do for this one? Dry, light color, medium body and fruit well presented. Very pleased with this one, as the bottle went relatively fast!

  • We decanted the wine for 45 minutes before we poured the first glass. It was translucent medium ruby in colour and offered rose water, dark fruits, fruits in rum, spices, cinnamon and liquorice on the nose. On the palate the light- to medium-bodied wine showed dark fruits, liquorice, fruit in rum, coffee and some chocolate, with very dry but fine tannins and good acidity. A textbook entry-level Barolo, surprisingly accessible despite its young age, with a juicy quality underneath the dry tannins, though I would recommend giving this wine two to three years time in the cellar.

  • For the money, this is hands down the best Barolo in its range. Amazingly accessible now and drinks well beyond its value. This was a pop and pour and the fruit characteristics are very ripe and lush with round oak and very dry tannins. The palate has a spicy richness to it with an intense component of pine needles and rose pedal. This went down a little too fast and truly is such a great wine for its price. Very, very modern in style.

  • Another flight of Molino Baroli. Again, this wine is excellent; even better than the first time I sampled. The wine is so well balanced and extremely well made. 07 is the best vintage of Molino I have tried.

  • 2007 Looks promising. Molino Baroli are awesome vaules and often underrated. The 07 normale was fantastic. It has the structure to develop into an even more beautiful wine but surprisingly accessible now if you don't mind the dryness. Dried red fruit and livley crushed raspberrys with cranberry overtones. A nice presence of oak that is in perfect balance with the wine. Dry, long juicy finish. Great bottle.
