Noble and ripe wine. Nearly 2 hours decant. Golden color, noble nose with notes of lemon and exotic fruit. Oily texture. Does not overran you but is unfolding an elegant aroma spectrum piece by piece. Needs patience. But is rewarding the wine lovers with elegance, richness and depth. Long and well balanced finish. Some more years ahead.

This was excellent. Opened for several hours for it all to knit together. Great depth, smokey quality, resonant yellow fruits. Very Chassagne. Top notch. Drink now with some air.

Muted nose viscous mouthfeel. Fruit is heavier doesn’t have the acid lift. Finishes flat and uninteresting. Day 2 the stony flinty minerality of ruchottes really shows up. Much more lift and length on the finish.

Simply gorgeous! This was a real surprise - my first ever Ramonet - expected it to be good but it was really special. Firstly this is big and rich like a Cali Chard but endowed with all the complexity and nuance of Burgundy - a rare combination.
Full bodied, hedonistic oily mouthfeel but with plenty of grip. Lemon, honey, tropical fruits on the palate. Oak pretty much fully integrated, long finish and complex. This will endure and give pleasure for years to come.

Opened at Season, Noosa. Wow this is delicious ! The colour is a correct pale green-gold and the nose is a lifted and ever changing mix of lemon, lime, freshly cut pear, white nectarine with touches of mint and fennel seed. The palate is quite rich with that lovely fruit but it sits on a fulcrum of lots of extract and minerality that provide genuine grip and drive. While the open character of these 09 Ramonets has been commented on by many I suspect the ageing curve may be extended by the extract, balance and purity which are the signature of these wines. An interesting comparison with the previous nights Sauzet Chevalier which while very beautiful just seem to lack some of what it takes to be a long distance runner.

Very fresh nose is full of dry wood spice and is very leesy. Vanilla and balsa wood over ripe orchard fruit, green and yellow apple and pear. Pleasantly yeasty. Palate is rich and dense but has a steely cut to it. Low citrus low acid. Very impressed with this. Would definitely seek a few out to have on hand as soldiers. Honeysuckle.

Nose has the signature spearmint, vanilla oak, and ripe tropical fruit. Palate is ripe and lush with low acidity. This is drinking at peak. Ramonet’s 09 is maturing much faster than I expect. Afterall, he is not an expert in handling ripe vintage. 90-91

Full, open, rich nose that lacks a bit elegance. Ripe yellow orchard fruit with tropical aromas. Butterscotch and oily glue. Fullish, rich and harmonius palate that lacks a bit acidic spine. Tropical fruit, honey and gently oaky. Fat, oily and generous. But lacking freshness. Clearly inferior to the Caillerets tasted on the same occasion. Not for keeping.

A melange of yellow fruit, slightly exotic, is marred by just a touch more new oak than I hope to see at this age. Concentrated and boasting significant dry extract, lushly textured, the medium weight flavors carry through to a long, lingering finish. The 2009 Les Ruchottes is ready to drink.

Robe topaze claire, limpide.

The 2009 Ramonet Ruchottes is cruising along just fine in the cellar. Lemon, green pear and some lovely autolytic notes burst from the glass (and half an hour in the decanter only improves this wine). Texturally seamless and seductive, this Chassagne is already wide open on the palate. Indeed, it's so wide open that I would be wary of aging large holdings beyond another three or four years.

Fin lengde. Til dels veldreid, men man må like spearmint for å like denne vinen.

This wine was theoretically tasted in single-blind fashion at a "California Chardonnay" tasting. However, it was a "ringer" which was generously provided by D.S. It did not fool me! Pale yellow-green, the wine was very intriguing from the get-go and did not signal "new world." I suspected that it needed time in the glass, and such time was indeed rewarded. After two hours, it was flaunting beautiful floral, citrus, honeysuckle and wet stone aromas. Medium-bodied, crisply acidic and with tightly integrated alcohol (13.5%), it delivered flavors similar to the nose. These same flavors persisted nicely in the middle and the wine concluded with impressive length. This is a gorgeous Chardonnay which will be much enjoyed by fans of the appellation. It should be at its best over the next five years. Drink now-2019.

The 2009 Ramonet Ruchottes would embarrass numerous grand cru bottlings from the Côte de Beaune. It soars from the glass with an already expressive bouquet of lemon oil, buttered popcorn, and botanicals including the trademark Ramonet mint. The palate impression is amazingly concentrated and authoritative, with effortless elegance and a vivid mineral finish that goes on and on. This is only a few steps behind Ramonet's profound Batard Montrachet in 2009, and a wine not to miss.

From magnum, delicious to the point that it’s difficult not to chug. Round and yet precise, pretty much everything I want in a white Burgundy.
