Rich Barolo nose: tar, camphor, quite alcoholic. Again, rich on the palate, mouth-filling. Plenty of acidity and fine tannins in support. Delicious but very big and lacking complexity as a result.

PnP. Good development and ready to go on open. Floral notes and purple fruit on the nose with integrated tannins and a slightly sour finish that lingers. So easy to drink.

The nose was bright and zesty with crushed stone and musky animal tones, as minerals and dried florals emerged along with fresh strawberry. On the palate, I found silky textures with saturating dark red fruits and spice to offset an almost oily like feel on the senses. Fine tannin and minerals mounted toward the finale and lasted throughout as notes of dried black cherries lingered long. It’s a wonderfully fresh wine for the vintage and producer.

Roberto Voerzio Tasting (Vino Italiano Waltham): Bacon, spice, cinnamon, and red fruits with a feral, Burgundian personality. Beautiful, but surely the odd man out tonight aromatically speaking.

James Suckling - Great Wines of Italy II - 2017 (The Presidio, SF): 10% new oak barriques. Tight nose with some balsamic perfumed tones (VA/acetic). Tightly wound flavors on the palate with well integrated red fruit and aggressive tannins and acid. Dry, medium body, medium plus alcohol, high tannins, and high acid. This is exciting but dense and tight now. No score right now.

Eric Pan brought this wonderdul 07' vintage, shine with beautiful nose of rose and tobacco, medium body and sour cherry after taste.
