Very surprised at how freshand light this was (I guess the name rainwater might have given it away). Nuts, fresh acidity and a saline note. Very easy to drink

On the palate the wine is medium-sweet, with medium(+) acidity, high alcohol and a medium(-) body. The flavour intensity is medium(+), flavours include dried apricot, dried apple, almond, walnut, toffee, coffee, burned sugar, and salty caramel. The finish is medium. The wine has an oily texture and tastes salty. The alcohol is lightly warming.
This is a good quality wine since it shows good complexity, has good balance of sweetness and acidity, and has medium length. To be considered being of very good quality it would need greater complexity and greater length.
This wine is ready to drink. It will keep for a number of years thanks to its good acidity and high levels of sugar and alcohol, but it was bottled mature and will not benefit from additional ageing and is hence not suitable for further ageing in bottle.

Medium orange-golden colour; expressive nose, honey, nuts, caramel, the orange peel of Grande Champagne Cognac, hint of salty wood, good depth; off-dry palate, silky texture, moderately tangy acidity, flavoursome, good weight and concentration; complete finish, good complexity, lovely length. Well made.

Interesting aroma with good complexity for the sub-$20 price; along the lines of butterscotch/caramel, light roasted chestnuts and roasted whole citrus fruits, fleeting cigarette tobacco, wine cellar, and salty sea air, of course with an overarching, explicit oxidative character but this somehow comes across as controlled and moderate. Similar on the palate. Fairly sweet but with good balancing acidity. Nice combination of freshness and depth/richness. Enjoyable, and a good value.

I enjoyed this bottle for almost a full year, it held really well along the way, light to medium body, with the typical nuttiness of Madeira, sweet on the palate dry on the finish, is almost magical

Colour: burnt orange. Weich und vollmundig, etwa so süß wie eine Spätlese bis Auslese, etwas brandig, oxidativ, Orangenschokolade, Mandeln, Karamell, Toffee. Salzig.

Golden yellow with a touch of brown. The bouquet is a little bit reticent, but it shows caramel, iodine, raisins, nutty flavors and tangerine. On the palate very tasteful with orange, nuts, minerals and burnt sugar. Soft bitterness. Very harmonious with a beautiful balance between sweetness and acidity. A beautiful wine.

Orange gold color. In the bouquet caramel, nuts, orange and dry honey. On the palate oranges and tangerine, coffee, burnt sugar, some medicine. The good dose of acidity makes this a very nice Madeira.

Citrus - especially oranges. Almonds, hazelnuts on a nice long finish. Good example of the rainwater style - and the price is right too.
