Described as a Claret style zin which makes perfect sense. Not for those who want the jammy, overripe, alcoholic zins though this is not a whimpy wine at all. You have to respect the balance and structure this bottle has. No noticeable oak. Delicious fruit. Should drink well for at least 5 more years.

Significant amounts of oak on the nose, palate and finish coupled with an old world style of dark fruit. My preference tends more toward rich bright fruit without so much wood. However, this was a great change of pace.

On the dark-fruit end of the spectrum, but not "rich" or "big" to my way of thinking. We stopped by Keenan on our way up Spring Mountain to Pride. After a steady diet of cabernet all weekend I expected the zinfandel to come across like a big bowl of fruit (not that there's anything wrong with that). It's not that kind of zinfandel. A very nice wine that I'd gladly buy again.

Did not take formal notes. Big, rich, chocolate-covered dark fruit flavors. A hint of chocolate-covered raisins (but I may have been searching for that because it's a zinfandel). Absolutely wonderful.

Past peak at this point. Not bad but somewhat thin and devoid of much of it's fruit. Short finish. Should have opened earlier. One that got away..

Deep dark color. Full bodied with lots of fruit on the nose and palate. Well balanced and rounded. It's a big wine.
