Decanted for 2+ hrs before first taste. Deep purple fruit on the nose. Same plus some tobacco darkness on the finish. Fine grain tannins. Drank over three days and held up well. On third day, added some notes of cedar on the nose. Very enjoyable.

Fully mature and lovely to drink. Opened up noticeably over lunch. My bad for not opening/decanting earlier, but sometimes you just need to follow your impulses. Still great at first taste. Good for many more years.

Hadn't had a Winter cab in a while and forgot how good these are, especially at the pricing available after the winery closed. Dark, rich wine that is well balanced with lots of lift/energy even a decade later. Opened at a party and disappeared quickly so no more detailed notes but clearly still going strong.

Similar to last note two years ago. This wine is in substantially same place. A good food pairing wine (in this case, Beef Wellington) that is integrated and balanced. Fruits still evident, medium finish. Probably will not get better (or for that matter, develop tertiary traits), but should last as is for another couple of years.

dark red with brick rim - nice cherry, blackberry and cassis nose but no real complexity - full body with predominant cherry fruit - 10 second finish - a very good food wine, but doubt enough development potential to become great wine

Blind tasting theme was Napa, Sonoma, Washington State Cab or Meritage. This was one of the stars. Dark garnet, no signs of age on the color, but a little bit of sediment, so the age guesses were pretty much right on. Big nose, lots of dark fruit and some spice. Palate screamed Cab, well integrated, plenty of fruit with lots of structure. Long finish. Too bad Winter is no longer with us, and continuing to make this wine.

My first time with this winery. Deep ruby color, wonderful nose of dark berries and oak. Well balanced with lingering finish. Finished evening of burgers and friends watching Syra. Win. Have 3 more bottles which I will stretch out over next couple of years.

This was a delightful wine that benefited from a 3 hour decant. The nose on this was amazing, while the flavor was not quite as explosive, but still good. Tons of tannins on this one, and enjoying it with a nice piece of red meat, which I did, does this wine good. I would not be as high on this if I paid the original price of $160, but it is a very nice cab at $50.

Wonderful licorice and cherry with sweet tannins. The 2009 is very drinkable now, though my wife feels it could use another year or two. At 15+% alcohol, this wine remains balanced with great fruit. Decanted 4 hours before serving with dinner.
The wine is violet with medium legs. There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is medium/full. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Bit of backsliding on this bottle. Still good, but not outstanding like the last bottle. One left to see which way Winter cab will be remembered.

Mostly red fruit. Smooth tannins but a bit thinner than I would have thought for a nap cab
