Dark yellow. Almond-hazelnut flavors, with ripe orchard - apple/pear. Then orange peel. Not over the hill or over-oxidized, just old and different. If you like old white Rioja, or Jura wines, you will like this, although it is not at all like either of these. Great acid still there. Needs food for sure!
Opened another bottle on 12/15, and notes were same as above. But the second bottle was a bit fresher. Raising score a bit as a result. Very nice wine with a cream sauce based veal dish.

Slightly oxidized, interesting, but not profound or intellectual. Definitely not typical of the region (in a good way). With less oxidation and more fruit, perhaps 5 years ago, this was a good wine.

Best wine of a vertical from 1988 to 1993 that I have tasted over the past few days. Good balance, more structure than teh other aged vinatges and a smart nose of flora and dried flowers. This wine had a finish, which is more than can be said of the others.

Golden elixir. Mature notes of cinnamon ant nutmeg. Complex flavor of hazelnuts a spices consistent with the nose but a lingering medicinal finish which ruined the wine. I'm not quite sure what happened. Possibly cooked or oxydized. We chose to put this one aside for the evening. I came back to it the next couiple of days with refrdgerated storage and it was the same. No worse. Just enough to be off-putting. I would have expeced an flawed wine to have deteriorated more. Too bad though.

Peaches, marmalade. Not much mineral definition and had only about 10 minutes of vitality after opening. Best days are in the past
