Eggplant/ruby appearance. Attractive aromas of cassis, black and blue fruit, and licorice frame notes of meat, tar, sandalwood, and spices. Full bodied, rich, and smooth textured, fleshing out nicely on the finish. Juicy fruit masks high alcohol. Aptly named.

Did not have time for letting it breathe but did decant. This wine impressed right out of the chute. Lots of bramble up front with a hint of cocoa on the finish. We loved this wine with meaty tapas.

Popped and let breathe in glass. First sips had a good dose of bacon fat with some meat and some tannins on the backend. As others have noted, oak is pretty prevalent initially. After some air, this gets more integrated and smooth. Overall a very good wine, but not great.

Nothing much to add other than there are better Syrah's out there for this price but its still damn good. Lot of dark fruit then oak, smoke, minerals on finish. Lot of time needed to breathe & will be better in 2 yrs.

Decanted for 3 hours. Overwhelming cinnamon flavor that I could not get past. Would be interested to try again in 3-5 years, but it's not one of my favorites now.

Huge nose of pure raw gamey, irony scents. On the palate lush red fruit nicely balanced with the irony, smokey, gamey component mid palate. Then the fruit comes back for a very long finish.

Very nice syrah. Lots of heat, but we'll hidden in this huge new world wine. Good integration and structure in this hedonistic pleasure. Not your fathers Northern Rhone.

Should have decanted for a couple of hours as this got considerably better as we consumed the bottle with dinner. Dark and opaque, but silky smooth.

Dark, dark purple. Nose of vanilla and cinnamon. Taste of lilacs and dark fruit. Also a bit drying and tannic. Overall, a very pleasant quaff.

Popped and poured - was already smooth, but improved over the next hour.
Sweet blueberry, cinnamon and vanilla. Solid enjoyable fruit, but not overly complex.
Had with BBQ pork ribs on grill - combo worked well.
Enjoyed the bottle (it was a gift), but think there are better syrahs for the money.

Fabulous damson and bramble nose, dark crimson colour, wonderful savoury-sweet palate and long finish. Pairs well with sweet meats like lamb.

A light but vibrant Syrah. Very smooth with a good flavor profile. Berries and good fruit flavors. I recommend this wine.
