Gevrey Tasting May 17, 2024 Slightly faded Burgundy color and brown rim. Developed, complex, “quintessential aged Burgundy bouquet”. The mouth revealed mature, red fruit (sour cherry), excellent balance, a velvety texture, and spice on a 15 second finish. Terrific showing for a 25-year-old village wine from a great producer in a great vintage. If you like aged burgundy, this is a treat.

Surprisingly young. The others around the table blind tasted it to ~2010. Color is turning slightly brick around the rim. Fruit is not sharp but not entirely smooth either. Medium length. Surprisingly I'd say this has potential from here 92+

Tonight this needed to be double decanted for a good 3 to 4 hours before it opened and then displayed very masculine characteristics. A nice palate of subtle dark fruit, tobacco, leather, sous bois and sanguine notes showing good heft and complexity for its level. The tannins on the finish are still quite firm and the fruit seems abit dry and on the edge of being eclipsed by the earthy elements, but all-in-all this was a quite nice and rather sauvage bottle of wine that seems to be fully mature and drinking well tonight.

This wine has not improved. Muted nose of dark fruits, hints of roasted meats and truffles adds to come alluring qualities. On the palate, it si dry, a sense that fruits are drying.

Nose of black cherry with hints of raspberry, tobacco, tar and a slightly gamy character. In the mouth, the wine is very concentrated, but tannins are round and provide a lot of structgure. Fragrance of confit black fruits are laced by leather, tobacco and gamy hints. Aromas are all very precise and beautifully crafted. Given the richness the balance is perfect and the finale is very long. A greta treat.

This bottle is so different from the first. The light ruby looking fresh. The nose had a good balance of fruits and secondary nuances. On the palate, it had good weight and balance, cherries and berries. Good acidity holding it together. Fair length.
