Decanted for a couple hours and didn't really budge. Bright, tart and a short with the deeper profile just starting to emerge. Leathery cherry, strawberry, and raspberry. Right now really just hits on one note (the front). More Syrah like flavors of smoke and tobacco linger in the finish. Nice now but believe it or not needs 5 more years.

Last consumed 1/2/17. It has not changed. The wine seemed very slightly better when I last tasted it in a Les Impitoybles "young red" tasting glass. See my last notes.

The wine has an inky dark garnet color; opaque; still purple on the rim. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, chassis, black cherry, some herbs de Provence, spice, violet, dark chocolate and cigar box from the oak. Velvety in the mouth - the fruit is so rich, big and powerful that the underlying tannin seems well abated. Great structure. Consumed from a Les Impitoybles "young red" tasting glass. Score 94-95.

Good over two nights and quite different both days. S & I got decidedly different flavors from each other, too. Think we will wait at least a couple of years for the second/last bottle.

was good, surprisingly, not great. Was a bit of a pop and pour from the cellar, so was cold and a bit closed. Recommend bringing the temp up and giving it air.

Pop n pour. This wine is in its prime drinking window right now. It's still dark as night, but its tannins have smoothed out, leaving behind waves of rich, savory dark fruits. Delicious now, but has the stuffing to keep going for a while longer.

I'm having a different tasting experience than others here. To me, this is smooth and well-integrated; I don't get any disruptive tannin. I get structure from the acids, which spike up (after some air) at just the right moments. I have to say that I do prefer the interpretations of Syrah from Copain and Pax that I've been drinking recently, but after this opens up, it is perfectly fine.

Rich, delicious full-bodied blackberry fruit, initially very closed and tight but opened up after 1 hour, excellent structure, licorice and spice flavors, long finish

An absolutely exceptional bottle of Syrah that's wonderful now (with a bit of air under it), but likely to only improve over the next few years as the tannins mellow a bit more. Just released this year (when most producers are releasing their 2010s), Corliss has consistently shown that they will spare no expense and be VERY patient in producing and releasing the best wines it can deliver. Once some of the structure blows off with some decanting, this dark-as- night Syrah shows great savory characteristics and rich dark fruit flavors with a touch of minerality. Not as spicy or peppery as some Syrahs, but I attribute that to it nearly three years in the barrel and another 1.5+ years in the bottle before release. An exceptional Syrah, and one of the best I've tried in the past few years.

A wonderful Washington Syrah. Definitely not past it’s peak. Drink now and enjoy!

Just a little too much oak for me, keeping it from getting a higher score. However, a really nice wine that is well put together.

Balanced, ready to go, 1.5 hr decant, nice depth, not exciting.

Great nose. Decanted for several hours and it needed it. I recommend holding for a year.

Will become a very good wine in years to come. Still young and disjointed. Fruit and structure is there.

Not much pepper for a Syrah. But pretty tasty.
