Completely youthfully velvet purple. Classic Cabernet nose very left bank. Bell pepper, pencil and cigar box. Expansive palate deep and interesting. Dark fruits, just barely ripe with some minerals. Great balance, Very smooth tannins and a long finish.

Eion has a v good description. Beautiful in the glass deep crimson, the nose has that unique burnt African soil nose. Long and complex superb balance. Remains one of the worlds best quality for price wines

Terrific Rray of flavour on the nose with smoke, dark berries, dark chocolate, hint of herbs, some burnt rubber and tar, juicy palate with lots of fruit, though does turn a bit sharp towards the finish, lots of stuffing for further development, if I had more I'd try again in 5 or so more years

Stunning nose and concentration of fruit. Balanced and vibrant - really packs a punch in a controlled manner. A great example of SA winemaking quality.

Very nice cabernet, more in the style of a bordeaux than a california can, tight, blackberries but the fruit was understated. Complex with a long finish, medium / dark red, drank beautifully.

Can 'subdued' be praise? I certainly don't intend it as criticism. But subdued is the word. Another might be 'muted'. But that to me is always preferable to 'shouty'.
Disappointment reigned early on as I was expecting more (well fruit of any sort) from an 'iconic' SA cab sav but once attuned to Balance FM it was all rather mellow and soothing especially combined with lamb steak, saute potatoes and ratatouille and then generous scoops of Belgian choc ice cream. Perhaps I'm marking the night, more than the wine.

South African reds in Mozambique; 3/10/2015-3/17/2015 (Pensao Martins at the Pool): One of the best Cabernets I have had from South Africa. Familiar cassis nose, some tobacco, chocolate. Charming and subtle tannins, silky finish. In great shape right now.

Grüne Note in der Nase, dann Kaffee und Waldboden. Auch etwas Mocca und Schockolade. Würzig.

Recommended to me by my South African kitchen fitter. His taste in wine is as good as his craftsmanship!!
Really lovely black fruit aromas, smooth long and slightly cool finish. Not cheap but then still good value.

Definitely needs a little decanting and it improved vastly over 60 minutes. Medium bodied with moderate tannins and a hint of fruit.
