Mild eucalyptus nose. Good fruit density without being overripe. Nice finish with wood notes, well placed acidity, minimal tannin. Well made and very Napa-esque. Good but not remarkable.

My last bottle from a case purchased upon release. When new, this was the most expressive and fruit forward of Tapestry's past. Age has caught up with a bit and it is time to drink. Medium, ruby color. Slightly floral aroma with a hint of strawberry and mint. Fruity palate with a finish of cherry, mocha and cola

2 hour decant. Some sediment. Black to deep purple edge. Slightly muted nose. Cassis, Rutherford fruit. Wonderful tasting wine. Very fruit forward. Classic BV Rutherford flavors, black currants, plum, cherry. Long, lovely finish. Very sad that this is last bottle. Long life to live.
Last one and the best. Shows what could have been had Diageo not tried to pimp up the BV wines. Great Bordeaux Blend elegance but with wonderful Californian power and hint of additional vanilla sweetness. Vs 2009 this is the better wine due to the additional complexity

Prune type nose and flavor, must have been slightly corked. I seem to have this issue disproportionately with BV wines which sucks because when they are ok I love them.
This particular bottle was fabulous and it is unfortunate that this particular vintage has had significant bottle variation. Rich, robust with bright red fruit in the front palate and a bit of cedar on the finish.

78% Cab, 14% Merlot, 4% Malbec, 2% Petite Verdot. "Baby GDL." Decant 1-1/2 hr. for sediment. Nose shy at first, but developed to wonderful BV Rutherford Cab profile. Cherries, cassis, oak, earth (Rutherford dust?). All of this in the mouth, well balanced with medium/long finish. This is why I love BV.

78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 4% Malbec, 2% Petite Verdot. Decanted for sediment 2-1/2 hrs. Deep red/purple to the edge. Cherry liqueur, cassis, raspberry. Very rich, cherry, currants. Good acid, solid tannin in background. Some cedar, plum and Rutherford dust. Long finish. This has a long life ahead and will benefit from a long decant. Much better bottle than last year.

Pleasantly surprised by the life left in this. Bright red raspberry, cherry and cola on the palate. Medium finish of chocolate with a hint of clove. This was bigger and bolder than other vintages of Tapestry. The longevity is a bit of a surprise given the relatively short window for the 2008 vintage. This still held up very well even after 4 days.

Allowed to breathe, after which aromas of moderate intensity show cherry, plum and cassis, with bay leaf and herbs. Showing ancillary aromas of dusty earth, cedar, mocha, leather and a trace of mint. On the palate medium/medium-plus in body. The dusty tannins have softened to a medium/medium+ level, while the acid remains medium-plus. The palate carries flavors of tart dark cherries, currant, cassis, cedar, bay leaf and thyme, leather, mocha, vanilla, dust and fleshy plum pulling through the medium/medium-plus finish.
Overall a little thin across the mid-palate. flavors are there, if a touch on the lean side but a good wine. I do not seeing this improving with much more time but should maintain its current state for a few more years.

Intoxicating nose of black candied cherries and herbs followed by a compact juicy core of tart black and red fruit on nicely structured mid-palate. Unfortunately, the finish is thin and too short. Not sure this will get any better. Better as a sipper wine than with food.

Still excellent but not quite as fruit forward as past bottles. Wonder if this is beginning to taper a bit. When we first tried this, the consensus was that this was the most expressive Tapestry we had drunk. Very enjoyable but taking on an earthier, herbal profile now.

750 ml; PnP - this wine is in a great place right now. Lots of red fruit with some plum, leather, tobac. The acidity is very good - after every sip your mouth waters for more! We had with some perfectly grilled filet migon and it hit it out of the park. Definitely drink now for a very nice drink, or hold a bit and take your chances.

California style -- rich mouthfeel, fruit-forward and pleasurable. But not one-dimensional. A complex taste, maybe from the blend. Don't remember liking this so much when I drank last bottle in 2012. Now in its prime. Great accompaniment to delicately smoked brisket and ribs.

I expected a lot worse. Gentle tannins, red fruits, vanilla, earth, and mint. This won't win any grand prizes and lacks the stuffing to age more than another 3-4 years but it suits my European palate better than most Napa Cabernets. A little overpriced at $40.

Decanted 3+ hours and it needed all of it. Still coarse on the finish, but the nose and mid-palate are coming together with the usual BV dried cherry + cinnamon vanilla combo. Slightly on the thin side of medium-bodied, but there is a subtle juiciness that leaves a satisfying pucker and makes this sing with grilled pork loin, potato salad, and broccoli. Working through a case so more detailed notes down the road.

I'm usually a fan of BV wines, but this one was just "meh" to me. Good fruit and a firm backbone, although all of that was somewhat usurped by leather and oak notes which were just too prevalent for my liking.

Deep indigo color. Jammy, fruit forward with plum, cassis and sour cherry on the palate. Well balanced, Bordeaux style but not as much tannin as woud be necessary to hold this for the long term. Still, will drink well for the next three to five years.

Big chewy Cali blend that had momentum straight out of the bottle. The table loved it too much to let it open up much, though I'm not sure it would've gained much more. Tannins were soft and fruit was dark.

Unbalanced and weird on the first day but I did not decant for long. I had one glass and let it sit for a day. Day two was outstanding, a totally different wine. I probably won't open another one for another year or so but if I do I will certainly open a bottle and let it sit for a day before drinking. I would give the wine an 85 on day one and a 90 plus on day two.

Glad I waited a day to write review. On initial opening, moldy, funky, earthy on nose. Tart, smokey, earthy, mineral taste, with zero fruit on tongue. I was surprised with such high ratings. I even let a glass sit for two plus hours, hoping for a change, but was disappointed when very little happened. So, put bottle away for a day and,WOW, what a difference a day makes!
Total transformation. Fruit exploding on nose, blueberries and apricots. No longer a funk on nose. Very silky, long on tongue with some oak. Great balance on fruit and tartness.
So glad I waited. Great bottle at a really great price point.

Decanted for about a half hour. Should have waited longer as this wine was better on day two. Dark and a little earthy. Minimal fruit and complexity on day one. Opened up a lot by day two with more dark fruit and a lot less muddled. Looking forward to trying again but with longer decant.

Picked this up at bottle king for around 25$, for the price it was very good. Wine was a deep red color with hint of rust. Dark fruits of blackberry/raspberry, currants up front on the palate, very light on oak, mild tannins, smooth wine. Just the right combination of sweet/heat/acid for me. Medium bodied with a reasonable finish. This wine is drinking very well now with some air time. For the price I paid it is a great value.

Shared two bottles of this at a restaurant with friends. Loads of black fruits initially & sweet toasty oak followed by a mid-palate of very well integrated dusty tannins. Several layers on the finish of blackberry, black currant, and black cherries with some interesting savory characteristics. A really nice wine!

Deep ruby. A nose of cedar, earth, black currant and licorice. Flavors of plum, black cherry, oak, vanilla and licorice. Mild tannins, but a solid core of acidity and an extremely long finish. No decant needed, but it opens up and softens over time in the glass. Very nice.

Notes consistent with 5/14/2012. 3-hour decant. Initially, this wine is big, closed and edgy. It needs a few hours to soften and to allow the fruit to begin to open, after which it is much fuller, softer, rounder. All the spectrum of red and black cherries appear, though the black cherries predominate. Highlights of red raspberry with plenty of black pepper spice, forest floor, cedar, mushroom and cassis are evident. The drinking window of 2017 is much too short; perhaps it will be in its prime through 2020-2022.

Deep purple color. Long legs and an extensive finish. Lots going on with this wine. Medium bodied with cassis an blackberry on the front palate. Fruit gives way to oak, vanilla and spice. Tasted this side by side with a 2004 Tapestry and the comparison was fascinating. 2004 was more of a garnet color and more herbal and less fruity.

Wow. Immediately I stated that this is the most expressive Tapestry I can remember with its vibrant full floral perfume. Dark ruby color with a slight purple hue, medium-full bodied, polished, smooth and nicely balanced - big bright vibrant expressive floral tones that are pervasive throughout accented by sweet ripe black currant and black berry fruits, a layer of vanilla, hint of cassis and tangy cinnamon spice and pleasant sweet oak with fine smooth polished tannins with that clinging long floral essence that holds for minutes. This was remarkably approachable for such a recent vintage. Barrel aged in 50% new oak.

Fantastic, probably the best Cali Cab under $35 we've had, the JP Innisfree comes close, but this is better and easily worth twice as much based upon others we've had, really nice - Dark, full bodied with a nose of blackfruit, plum, cigar box, mocha and vanilla, very well structured and balanced, serious, sweet, silky smooth on the palate with excellent length, stunning (92 Points).

This bottle seemed a little younger than earlier ones we've had. A bit hot on the finish. We'll see what more cellar time will do for it.
Day 2: much better today; no heat, nicely integrated. Overnight in fridge did the trick. Changed rating from 88 to 89.
